Emerson Process Management in $60m expansion in Romania

Technology company Emerson Process Management is spending $60m on an expansion of its manufacturing and engineering services campus in Romania.

The expansion includes a new 18,800 square-metre flow measurement manufacturing building (pictured) Emerson Process Managementwhich the company says will help meet growing demand for its products and services in Europe and other regions.
 
This summer Emerson Process Management - part of US-headquartered Emerson - will also move into a separate, new $16m facility on the campus at Cluj-Napocas that will be home to its regional project engineering centre and the European system integration centre for its PlantWeb solutions group.

This facility will house up to 600 staff who provide engineering and support services for European control systems and automation projects, plus an initial 100 extra personnel to assemble and test control systems for projects throughout Europe.

Steve Sonnenberg, president of Emerson Process Management, said: “These additional capabilities increase our flexibility and ability to manage our European customers’ most challenging needs.”
