Vestas wind turbines destined for Romania
October 11th, 2013Wind turbines produced by Vestas are set to power 550,000 homes in Romania after a 108 MW order was placed with the Danish firm.
The S.C. Crucea Wind Farm is one of Romania’s largest wind power plants and the equipment to be provided includes 36 V112-3.0 MW wind turbines.
The plant is expected to produce more than 300 gigawatt hours annually, and offer an annual saving of almost 124,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Ecoseed reports that Vestas will also provide the plant with its Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system which will monitor and control the facility. A 10-year full-scope service agreement under Vestas’ Active Output Management service program will be provided so as to continually keep the wind turbines at optimal condition.
