A software engineering position is available in the Western United States. This opportunity could be at a small firm or Fortune 500 company.

This company is looking for experienced individuals with software engineering backgrounds in game development.

Software Engineer, User Interface
Our client in Oregon has a direct placement opening for those experienced in GIS and game development.

This is an excellent position for someone who has a passion for computer science and engineering on the electronic games platform.  The work will include:

  • Releasing and supporting products through the entire life cycle from initial design to field support
    • Supporting and modifying large existing codebase; ability to properly scope and implement changes to support new functionality
    • Software development in C# as well as Java or C++
    • Working with ESRI ArcEngine API; or any GIS-based API
    • Working with an XBOX or Windows Live! shipping commercial game application

We are looking for an engineer with a B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related Engineering track. An advanced degree is a plus. Other requirements include:

  • 6+ months experience using WPF and XAML technologies to develop desktop application on Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of the DirectX AP.
  • Understanding the development of an SDK for consumption by external 3rd party developers. Ideal candidate would have worked on a toolset or SDK that is already shipping.
  • Experience with and/or exposure to Scrum methodology. Previous experience with scrum, and serving in the role of product owner or scrum master a plus.
  • Experience with and/or exposure to industry-recognized process models: CMMI, Six Sigma, AS9100; Software CMMI experience a plus. Knowledge and experience with software development processes, process metrics, and earned value management.
